What’s your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours notice for cancellations. In the event of rain or any inclement weather on the day of your tour, a full refund will be issued.
Is there a minimum age for tours?
The minimum age for kayaking tours is 10 years old. For hiking, we customize tours for beginners and younger guests, so give us a call to talk through what works for your group.
Do I need prior experience?
No experience is required for either kayaking or hiking. Just keep in mind our hikes can cover up to 4 miles with moderate elevation gain, so come ready to be active. If you’re a beginner, let us know and we’ll tailor the hike to your group.
What should I wear or bring?
For kayaking: water shoes, a hat, and sunscreen. For hiking: seasonal attire, a hat, sunscreen, and hiking boots or shoes (sneakers are fine for most trails, though they may get muddy).
What’s the maximum group size?
Our standard tours are capped at 4 guests. If you have a larger group, give us a call and we’ll make special arrangements.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, as long as you let us know ahead of time. Tours with pets are generally booked as private tours.
Where do we meet, and is there parking?
Tours meet at the Asheville Visitor Center, 36 Montford Avenue, Asheville, NC. Hotel pickup is also available, just call to arrange it.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Full payment is due at the time of booking for most tours. For larger group bookings (5 to 12 guests), we require a 50% deposit at booking, with the remaining balance due 48 hours before the tour.
